The Unveiling of Tara's Headstone
A Tribute to Tara, Willow & Tara, and the love they shared.
On this the one year anniversary of Tara's death, you are invited to attend:
The 'Unveiling' of Tara's Headstone.
The Kaddish (Jewish prayer for the dead) is a prayer for peace between nations, between individuals, and peace of mind.
As a Jew, Willow would recite the Kaddish for Tara (her soulmate) three times a day over the past year. On this the first anniversary of Tara's death (Yahrzeit), Willow would say the Kaddish at Tara's grave, and "unveil" Tara's headstone. In so doing, she would release Tara's soul, (which remains earth bound for the year of mourning) to heaven.
We, like Willow, pray for peace.
In Closing
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' has not seen fit to provide an on screen view of Tara's funeral. Nor has it shown the Scoobies commenting on their fallen comrade, or grieving her absence.
We fans however cannot let this the first anniversary of Tara's passing go by, without giving tribute to an iconic character whose storyline has touched us deeply.
Tara, we salute you,
You were a surrogate mother to Dawn, a confidante and friend to Buffy and Anya, Willow's lover & soulmate, and a Scoobie of extraordinary maturity, courage and presence. Sunnydale is indeed a poorer place for your absence.
